2018 – 2019: Learning Sessions @ PPR Kota Damansara
Founded by 5 Form 4 students on 16 March 2018, Hands For Education began life out of a common passion for improving accessibility to quality education for underprivileged youths.
To achieve this goal, we conducted over 40 weekly enrichment sessions impacting 60 primary school students at PPR Kota Damansara from 2018 to 2019. Our efforts have been recognized, earning awards such as:
- MyHarapan Social Project Challenge 2018 – Runner Up
- HOPE Awards 2018 – Winner
- Tuanku Bainun Young Changemakers Award 2018 – Winner
2020: Bersama-sama Project
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we executed the Bersama-sama Project, distributing 24,000 face masks and 6420 bottles of hand sanitizers to over 5,000 underprivileged families.
2021 – 2022: Projek Didik (#SaveSPM2021)
To support the educational needs of SPM students affected by the pandemic, we launched Projek Didik, conducting over 20 workshops and 300 tuition classes online in partnership with teachers impacting over 500 students.
We also launched the #SaveSPM2021 Discord Server, providing a platform for tutoring and collaboration for a community of over 140 students and volunteer tutors. The success of the #SaveSPM2021 Discord Server would not have been possible without our collaborators, namely Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar UiTM Rembau, Rotaract Club of Klang Central, Rotaract Club of Bukit Kiara Sunrise, What to Discuss, Eduristic Malaysia, and Tutors in Action.
